Indri coming down to human level This was a special moment for all guests visiting the Andasibe forest this day. This Indri came down from the tree tops and hung low in a tree, nearly at eye level and only about 10 metres away from us. It hung there curiously for a few minutes, after which it dissapeared in 3 seconds completely out of sight, using giant vertical leaps, almost as if to say...I rule this forest. The indri, also called the babakoto, is one of the largest living lemurs. It is a diurnal tree-dweller related to the sifakas and, like all lemuroids, it is native to Madagascar.
