Borocera madigascariensis cocoon
The cocoons of the tapia silkworm Borocera madagascariensis are collected from the Uapaca bojeri, Phyllanthaceae or Tapia trees. In local Malagasy culture, the silk is traditionally used for burial shrouds. In addition, the wild silk has a local market importance.
