1. Criminal behaviour deserving of a mugshot - indeed! :o) Posted one year ago
2. Oh, it's been a while since I saw your mugshot list, really funny and cool to see all those shots side-by-side! Posted one year ago
1. Thanks Ferdy. Even while I'm not a Ladybird beetle myself, somehow they don't look "all the same " ;o) Posted one year ago, modified one year ago
1. This is my favorite:

Ceratomegilla undecimnotata - Mugshot of male This image is part of a series of images resulting from a batch of larvae kindly sent to me in 2017 from Germany by Burkhard Hinnersmann (thanks!), hence these images were taken at my home in the Netherlands but:
THESE ARE GERMAN SPECIMEN - AT THE TIME, THIS SPECIES DID NOT NATURALLY OCCUR IN THE NETHERLANDS (but it has arrived in the meantime)
It's awesome. The composition at eye level or slightly below it really makes it stand out. It's intimidating, as if looking through the eyes of a smaller bug.
