Guayaquila gracilicornis is a treehoppers of Membracidae family. Members of the genus Guayaquila are subsocial and mutualistically associated with ants, and occasionally with meliponine bees or vespid wasps (Dietrich and Deitz 1991a). There are more than 20 species, one of which is a pest of papaya.
