  1. It's as if it has been formed by a pair of those Victorian ridged butter-making pats my grandmother had in her kitchen! Have you ever watched how butter was formed in to blocks back then? I think this isolation is getting to me ha ha. An exceptional image Christine, given its size, awesome. Posted 5 years ago
    1. Thanks Ruth, and yesss! Perfect description! I churn my own butter and sometimes use molds <3. Posted 5 years ago, modified 5 years ago
  2. This looks like Sumitrosis pallescens? The antennae are much too light and the body looks much paler? Or is it just the lighting?

    1. Hmm, I think you're right. This beetle was IDed on BG for me, so I assumed it to be correct. But, Sumitrosis pallescens looks closer to me. Thanks :). Posted 5 years ago

''Baliosus nervosus'', the basswood leaf miner, is a species of leaf beetle in the family Chrysomelidae. It is found in North America. It's typical host is basswood, and adults skeletonize the surface of leaves. Larvae have been known to create leaf mines on soybean leaves.
