Bellona Metalmark on a wet street in the morning

This is a beautiful red, black, & blue butterfly that we saw on our "Street Birding Walk" on a warm and sunny morning after a lot of rain.

  Thanks. identifying South American butterfliers is a real challenge. I have identified 3 from my photos (I will upload them soon) but there are a number of others that I have not been able to identify. But, heh, that makes it all the more fun when you can! Posted 5 years ago
