
Banksia spinulosa inflorescence
Commonly known as Hairpin Banksia, (after the deep brown/red stamens), this eastern Australian native woody shrub flowers from autumn through winter. Each inflorescence is 75-100 mm wide and up to 450 mm long.
Like other banksias, Banksia spinulosa plays host to a wide variety of pollinators and is a vital source of nectar in autumn and through the winter months.

"Banksia spinulosa", the hairpin banksia, is a species of woody shrub, of the genus "Banksia" in the family Proteaceae, native to eastern Australia.
