TL: ~20 mm. Gray FW sprinkled with white scales; indistinct black lines and spots are accented with greenish scales. Large, white reniform spot. Host: Ash<br />

Grote's Sallow - Copivaleria grotei

This was my only moth last night, but it was a beauty!

Grote's sallow is a species of moth of the family Noctuidae. It is found in eastern North America, including Ontario, Tennessee, New York and Maryland. The wingspan is about 35 mm. Adults are on wing from April to May. The larvae feed on "Fraxinus" species.
