  1. I know that beavers can seriously alter a habitat, but I like to imagine how many creatures have benefited from the formation of beaver ponds, such as the newt! Posted 5 years ago
    1. Yes, these ponds can become very productive. This one has been active for many years and now has a newer additional “house”. The big problem has been maintaining the size. Every couple of years they have to “dredge” the ditch so the water can make it to the nearby lake. The beaver have even covered a drainage pipe that was installed. At this pond, for us nature lovers, they have installed a float big enough for a couple of chairs to sit and enjoy... even in a light rain as in this photo. Posted 5 years ago
      1. Sounds like a great place with some smart beavers! Posted 5 years ago
  2. I would love to be there watching. Near our town we have a river with beavers but we only see the marks they leave on the sides from going in and out the water and the chewing on the trees..I can't blame them for hiding, they do well! Posted 5 years ago
    1. This pond is a great place to go and “self isolate”! Posted 5 years ago
