Scolopostethus affinis - Male, ID help
Some characters helpful in ID-ing this species
1 The 1st and 2nd antenna segments pale, 3rd and 4th segments dark, but with the 3rd often slightly paler at the base, resulting in a much less defined/abrupt contrast between the pale and dark parts as in S. puberulus.
2 Usually brachypterous (some macropterous do occur) with the wing membranes generally a tad longer than S. thomsoni.
3. Legs pale, with only the fore femora somewhat darker usually.
4. Males carry two little hooks on the mesosternum between the coxae of the fore and middle legs (char. shared with S. grandis)
