My spirits lifted
Something that has lifted my spirits this past three days is being witness to hundreds of these pretty little Caper White butterflies travelling through my garden, north to south. So very many, it was like confetti blowing in the breeze!
I didn't think I'd get a decent shot as none were stopping and they were flying at a height, but my luck changed and one did finally come to rest, just for a few seconds.
This migration doesn't happen every year, conditions have to be right and I am grateful their chosen path brought them so close to mine this time.
Feeding on Capparis species.
This is the sub species B. j. teutonia that occurs within Australia.
Wing diameter 50 mm

"Belenois java", the caper white or common white, is a small butterfly of the family Pieridae found in Australia, Indonesia, and Melanesia. It is highly migratory and is often confused with the cabbage white.
