  3. True, in my area there are some trees that attract them..I used to save them from the steps in the tunel of the train stop in my town, otherwise people killed them :-C I think there are some of their favorite trees nearby.. Posted 5 years ago

The cockchafer, colloquially called May bug or doodlebug, is a European beetle of the genus Melolontha, in the family Melolonthidae. Some authors would place the Melolonthidae as a subfamily Melolonthinae of the family Scarabaeidae.
