Thryptomene saxicola Thryptomene saxicola is a member of a purely Australian genus of forty species spread throughout all States of Australia, although T. saxicola itself is confined to south-western Western Australia.<br />

Growing to 1.5 m high, with pendulous branches. The prolific pink-hued flowers are borne along the upper short lateral branches. Leaves are 5-10 mm long and with a characteristic Myrtaceae smell when crushed.<br />

''Thryptomene saxicola'', commonly known as rock thryptomene, is a shrub species in the family Myrtaceae. It grows to between 0.3 and 1.5 metres high and produces white or pink flowers between February and November in the species' native range. The species is endemic to Western Australia.

Similar species: Myrtles, Evening Primroses.
