      1. The undergrowth of rain forests have some of the most elusive and beautiful species of butterflies. Not often seen, sometimes hard to photograph, yet worth it.

        That, and pretty much any metalmark is awesome.

The Helicopis Cupids are closely related to Sarota and Anteros but are quite different in appearance and behaviour. The genus comprises of 3 species - cupido, gnidus and endymiaena. This species is found in primary rainforest habitats at altitudes between 200-800m. It is most often encountered in marshy habitats e.g. around the margins of lagoons.
