          1. Spilosoma virginica was my second choice, but the pale version of that species doesn't have the yellow dots on the sides. Estigmene acrea I threw in there because that species has long hairs, but it doesn't really match...not at all really. Posted 5 years ago, modified 5 years ago

"Spilosoma virginica" is a species of moth in the Arctiinae subfamily. As a caterpillar, it is known as the Yellow woolly bear or Yellow bear caterpillar. As an adult, it is known as the Virginia tiger moth.
