Zugmayer's House Crow (full name: Corvus splendens zugmayeri)
This bird was the only one of his kind in Hoek van Holland ( the Netherlands) there where about 30 house crows in that city, the government decided that they where exotic birds and don't fit in the Dutch fauna, so they had to go (read, they killed them all)

The House Crow, also known as the Colombo Crow is a common bird of the Crow family that is of Asian origin but now found in many parts of the world, where they arrived assisted by shipping. It is between the Jackdaw and the Carrion Crow in size but is relatively slimmer than either.

I agree it's sad when any animals are killed, especially since any species that becomes invasive only does so because of human activities (directly or indirectly).
However, specifically in the case of exotics, early eradication can be much better than letting them be and allowing the populations to potentially increase and cause much greater damage to native species.
