  2. Nice! :o) Do you mushroom gals have any idea of the mushroom species it is on? The larvae tunnel in a few species of mushrooms, so this may well be the "host" that the beetle is on ...

    1. Arp, the specimen was pretty old/rotted so I didn't pay too much attention to its remaining features (I haven't been taking many photographs lately due to some recent traumatic events). I may go back and take a second look at my photos. It could be in the family Strophariaceae? Posted 5 years ago
      1. Hi Lisa, not the place to discuss, but very sorry to hear you've had a bad time :-/ Hope you were/are able to get on top of things again and wish you all the best with that - truly.
        As for the mushroom, the article I linked mentions some Pholiota sp. as a host (which is a Strophariaceae), but also some species from different families (Pleurotaceae, Physalacriaceae) so it would seem the beetle isn't too picky(?)
