''Quercus durata'', the California scrub oak, or leather oak, is an oak endemic to California. ''Quercus durata'' var. ''durata'' is a strict serpentine endemic that grows in the Coast Ranges and northern Sierra Nevada. It is often a component of serpentine chaparral.
