Barred Owl - Strix varia
This is Willow. She's a female barred owl who had been hit by a car while hunting along a road. She ended up with radius and ulna fractures, and despite receiving amazing care at Tufts University Wildlife Clinic, her wing could not be fully fixed. She is now an educational ambassador for Christine’s Critters, which is a non-profit group that rehabilitates birds of prey.

The Barred Owl is a large typical owl native to North America. It goes by many other names, including Eight Hooter, Rain Owl, Wood Owl, and Striped Owl, but is probably best known as the Hoot Owl based on its call.
