Black Orb!!

I have seen many Spiny Orb Weavers, but this is the first black one. Gasteracantha cancriformis? Aiyura Valley, Eastern Highlands, Papua New Guinea.

  2. I thought it strange, but one website said that you only see these around March and April. Is that possible? Posted 5 years ago
    1. This color variety as mostly being seen during March and April? That would certainly be possible. It's such a small time frame though, which surprises me. Posted 5 years ago

    Could it be an Austracantha Minax? The spikes don’t look quite right though.
