
Mini-macaw
When most people think of macaws they think of the majestic blue and golds and scarlets. But there are also mini-macaws like this Illigers here. An easy way to tell if a bird is a macaw is that they will always have a bare patch of skin around the eye.
This one is eating a nut..only way I could get him to sit still!

The Blue-winged Macaw , in aviculture more commonly known as Illiger's Macaw, is a species of macaw found in central and eastern South America. It was previously placed in the genus ''Ara'' or ''Propyrrhura''. Blue-winged Macaws have been known to reach an age of 50–60 years.
