  1. That's interesting, never considered that they do this. Posted 5 years ago
    1. Yep. It's fun to search for and follow tracks in the snow, especially this time of year when the coyotes and foxes are starting up mating season. They leave a ton of scat and urine this time of year. I followed coyote tracks quite a distance in this forest, which is how I came upon these bunny tracks, in addition to deer, fox, bird, and some other animal that I am not sure of. I was hoping to see an actual animal, but no luck this time. Posted 5 years ago
      1. Nice! Mammals can be quite hard to see in the wild, other than perhaps some big ones. Over here, due to recreational pressures, recommend time is 4-5AM, after that most go into hiding already. Posted 5 years ago
        1. It's a bit easier to see them around here, and I often see fox, bobcat, bear, and deer during the day...usually in the morning or late afternoon. BUT, I generally only see the tail end of them running away as they hear me approaching long before I see them ;P. I like to track them though in hopes that I might come upon some resting for the day. They very clever and elusive though.

One interesting thing - we have had coyotes in our yard quite a bit in the past week or so. They are SO loud as it is mating season and they stink really bad (kind of like skunk). As soon as I open the door, they run off though. I may need to put my trail cam up to see if I can capture some photos of them.
