Sticky Bartsia A plant about one foot high with slightly angular stem small spiky leaves in whorls at nodes. Flowers were a deep magenta on the outside and creamy white on the inside with five petals which were thick with minute hairs. There was a central hood petal and the four others were splayed out showing stamens with thick anthers. Tubular calyces were ribbed. The plant had apical clusters of flower buds covered with trichomes (hairs) and had a herbaceous feel to it.<br />
Growing wild in open grassland- Cardinia Reservoir Park.<br />

"Parentucellia latifolia" is a species of flowering plant in the broomrape family known by several common names, including red bartsia, red tarweed, and broadleaf glandweed. It is native to Europe, but it can be found on other continents, including Australia, as an introduced species.
