The Common Mushroom Coral

"Fungia fungites" is a species of mushroom coral in the family Fungiidae. It is found in the Indo-Pacific region. Until recently, the genre had more than 30 species, but the World Register of Marine Species has updated its taxonomy, based on recent studies, reducing to a single species in the genus.
