What a handsome fella! Male Sinai agamas (Agama sinaita) turn a fabulous shade of blue during mating season. They live in the arid parts of northeastern Africa, in addition to parts of the Middle East. Sinai agama lizards grow to 18 cm (7 in) with their tails accounting for approximately two-thirds of their total length! They are fantastic climbers, swift runners, and are adept at hunting insects. As ectothermic animals, they rely on environmental sources to maintain body temperature. So, they spend quite a bit of time sunning themselves on rocks and cliffs. The dominant male gets the most elevated, sunny, coveted spot, while his subordinates are relegated to the lower, less-than-perfect locations. {Spotted in Oman by JungleDragon user, Abo Elias} #JungleDragon #Sinaiagama #Agamasinaita
