Pretty in Pink! These mushrooms attracted my attention because of their colour. They were growing with the moss on a decaying deciduous branch. The stems were hollow and quite tough. The caps were wet (we have had lots and lots of rain after the cold and snow) but “slimy” as well. The largest would be about 5cm across. 1. What a wonderful find! Thank you for sharing this series with us! Posted 5 years ago
    1. Thank you and you are more than welcome. I am hoping that someone may point me to an ID of some kind. A few of the specimens were a little bedraggled due to the snow and below freezing temperatures but the smaller ones looked quite “fresh”. Must be the warmer temperatures... up to 12*C! 1. Are the stems lateral (more to one side)? It appears so, but I want to be sure! Posted 5 years ago, modified 5 years ago
          1. That is quite amazing. Well, to me it is. Close enough for me to say that that is what it is. Posted 5 years ago
            1. I think it looks like a close match at this point. I'll let you know if I find anything else in the future! Feel free to go ahead and ID these if you'd like. Posted 5 years ago, modified 5 years ago

                1. Sorry about that. I just created the species record for you since it wasn't available on Wikipedia/our database. Feel free to add it now! Posted 5 years ago, modified 5 years ago
                  1. That’s OK. Seems that before 2012 it was called Panellus longinquus! Posted 5 years ago
                    1. I saw that! I will add that to the species info as well! Posted 5 years ago
        1. Yes, definitely, with a “notch” sort of pointing to the stem’s attachment. Must be a name for that?! Posted 5 years ago
