Brahmin moths, also called owl moths, are a small family of moths with only about 28 species, most of which have a Palearctic and African distribution. Adults range in size from 50-180 mm, depending on the species. They have beautiful, neutral coloring and complex wing patterns characterized by circles, dots, stripes, and undulating lines. They are spectacular! {Brahmaea hearseyi spotted in Malaysia by JungleDragon user, Azura Ahmad} #JungleDragon #Moth #Brahminmoth #Owlmoth #Brahmaeahearseyi Posted 3 years ago, modified 3 years ago
