The bigeye snapper, ''Lutjanus lutjanus'', is a species of snapper native to the Indian Ocean and the western Pacific Ocean. It inhabits offshore coral reefs at depths from near the surface to 96 m . This species is mostly silver in color with a yellow stripe along the side and fainter yellow lines on the lower half of the body. Fins are yellowish to whitish. It can reach a length of 35 cm . It is much sought-after by commercial fisheries.
