The large niltava is a species of bird in the family Muscicapidae. It is found in Bangladesh, Bhutan, Cambodia, China, India, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Nepal, Thailand,and Vietnam. Its natural habitat is subtropical or tropical montane forests.
