What a handsome fella! The blue-throated starfrontlet (Coeligena helianthea) is a species of hummingbird that lives in the Andes of northern Colombia and western Venezuela. Males appear dark, until the light hits them just right to illuminate their brilliant green forecrown, bluish-purple throat, and purple belly. Females are also beautiful, but have a buff throat and pinkish belly. {Spotted in Colombia by JungleDragon user, NattyOne} #JungleDragon #hummingbird #Bluethroatedstarfrontlet #Coeligenahelianthea Posted 5 years ago
