  1. They must be fun to watch in the wild! I was in a pet store last week and saw such a beautiful little parrot (no idea what kind) in a cage. It had a limp from an injury, and so nobody wanted to buy it. Every time I would approach the cage, it would run over to me and dance, and chatter when I talked to it. It was so sweet and definitely undeserving of its sad fate living in a cage and still unwanted. My heart nearly broke over the injustice of it all. Posted 5 years ago, modified 5 years ago
    1. Yes, seeing them living wild & free-flying is amazing - the pet-trade has a lot to answer for - The Spix Macaw! - added to industrial farming, illegal mining & deforestation - & a blind spot to global warming by politicians (& their electorates) :¬( Posted 5 years ago
      1. Aww, I wasn't aware of the Spix Macaw's fate. It's a similar fate that many creatures have faced and many more will sadly follow. I definitely think, 100%, that wild animals deserve to be left in the wild. But, if that bird is still in that cage the next time I pass by that pet store, I'm going to adopt it. I can't stand seeing how sad and confined it is. A good home is better than a tiny cage, even though it isn't fair or ideal. If only humans would stop devastating everything in nature.
