    1. Thanks, Ferdy. Yes, at about 3-4mm across they are easily missed unless there are a lot of them close together as there are on this piece of driftwood. I believe those tiny orange “specks” may be more of the fruiting bodies. Posted 5 years ago

Nidula niveotomentosa is a fungi in the family Agaricaceae, and is a bird's nest fungi. Nidula niveotomentosa is easily recognized when young by its pubescent, white, cylindrical fruiting bodies and small brown peridioles embedded in mucilaginous gel.
