Pleurothallis orecta, nicknamed the Stretched Out Pleurothallis, is found in Colombia at elevations around 2000 meters as a mini-miniature to miniature sized, cold growing epiphyte. This species has an elongate peduncle holding the yellow, red striped flower well above the leaf. The widely expanded flower has a narrowly obtuse sepal and synsepal, petals that are nearly as large and the lip is triangular in shape.
