Welcome to Madagascar Although I have posted several photos from Madagascar already, most were from a reptile zoo there. This scene in Andasibe was the first touchpoint we had with the true wild of Madagascar. This one was made in an early foggy morning in Andasibe. It was cold but the rising sun literally brought life into the jungle. The sound made this scene complete. This forest is home to the Indri Indri, the biggest and loudest lemur specie. Check out the audio clip in the comment to hear it call. Andasibe,Madagascar Click/tap to enlarge Promoted

  1. Funny story: during the holiday I've often played this audio clip straight from my camera, which led to panic amongst eager photographers. They would rush out of their houses with their gear in search of the Indri Indri.

    Yes, I'm mean :)

  6. Wow, amazing light and a fantastic atmosphere.
Did you climbed trees to get so high?

    1. Nope, didn't climb trees for this one. This is the view you get from the Andasibe lodges. Those lodges are interconnected with steep stairs so I simply got up early and went for the highest point. Posted 8 years ago
