<br />
In these photos, you can see the baby clinging on to the mother&#039;s belly, and peeking outwards from her side. It will typically be in this position for 4-5 months, after which it moves to the mother&#039;s back. That makes this Indri baby at most 5 months old.<br />
<br />
It is very likely much younger as usually they are born in May or June, whilst this was taken on July 22. That puts it at about 2 months old, at the most. Given its small size and still being fully black, my guestimate is 4-6 weeks old.<br />

Indri Baby - 3, Palmarium, Madagascar Not only were we surprised to find an Indri at Palmarium Reserve, we were even more thrilled to discover she has a young baby.<br />

The indri, also called the babakoto, is one of the largest living lemurs. It is a diurnal tree-dweller related to the sifakas and, like all lemuroids, it is native to Madagascar.
