
Dotted Stem Bolete - Neoboletus luridiformis
Cap: Light brown/tan; dry; convex
Pores: Orange; bruised immediately upon handling
Flesh: Whitish; bruised blue when exposed to air
Stipe: Tan; rough; bruised with handling; base was white with a bit of reddish
Habitat: Growing on the ground under oak in a mostly deciduous forest

''Neoboletus luridiformis'', known until 2014 as ''Boletus luridiformis'', is a fungus of the bolete family, all of which produce mushrooms with tubes and pores beneath their caps. It is found in Northern Europe and North America, and is commonly known as the dotted stem bolete.
