Found in Colombia and Ecuador at elevations of 1900 to 2900 meters as a mini-miniature sized, cool to cold growing terrestrial or epiphyte orchid. Orchids in the Porroglossum genus are characterized by their hinged lip, which when triggered temporarily traps pollinators, forcing them against the pollen of the flower.
