

"Xerochrysum bracteatum", commonly known as the golden everlasting or strawflower, is a flowering plant in the family Asteraceae native to Australia. It grows as a woody or herbaceous perennial or annual shrub up to a metre tall with green or grey leafy foliage.

On the page you indeed see a yellow form, labelled as the "wild form". The longer text explains how the species is widespread and highly variable in color, also due to cultivation. So my assumption here is that you white form is one of many forms of this same species.
If you read the taxonomy section of this species on Wikipedia, things get a lot more complex. There's many many names and the species has been transferred to multiple genuses. Current believe is that the current taxonomy is likely incorrect, and that in the future it is likely to be split up into multiple species.
I can't really foresee what will happen, so hope you understand that it may be best to now go for the current consensus. Posted 3 years ago
