Found in Colombia in dense primary cloud forests at elevations of 2400 to 2500 meters as a small sized, cold growing epiphyte with erect, stout, laterally compressed towards the apex ramicauls enveloped basally by 2 to 3 and another below the middle sheaths and carrying a single, apical, erect, coriaceous, elliptical, obtuse, shortly acuminate basally leaf that blooms winter, spring and summer on a dense fascile of numerous, single flowered inflorescence arising from the middle of the leaf.
