  1. Nice camouflage :o)
Hidden feature on species page? Where does the map come from (how is it integrated into JD - doesn't seem to be added manually ?!)

    1. Not hidden, it has been there all along :)

It comes from the Wikipedia parser. Some Wikipedia species pages have such maps and if JD manages to find it, it will include the map on the JD species page. Usually only a map is available for well documented species.

      1. Ah, okay, but the map is displayed from your server it seems (something amazon-ish), so you store a "local" copy? Am I right in assuming that any edit/replacement or even addition of own maps would need to run through you? Posted 5 years ago
        1. Yes, correct, it is a local copy just like the text. The parse action is one-time, after that there is no connection to the original Wikipedia page.

I currently don't have any UI to update these maps. Not to upload it or to refer to it, sorry :(

Good future feature though, we need the ability to include non-species educational photos like maps, anatomy diagrams, biotopes, etc.
