Conwentzia psociformis - Flashed I new I had some images of a dustywing ID&#039;d to species somewhere :o)<br />
This one was sitting so still that it allowed me to experiment a little and take another image with a long exposure and natural light from behind the wings shining through, thus giving a more useful view on some details important in ID:<br />

The backlight through the wings brings out the wing venation quite well and also even shows up a shadow/contour of the much smaller hind wing, typical for Contwentzia spp.<br />

Conwentzia psociformis - Backlight Luckily this little Dustywing was sitting fairly still for a while, so I had a chance at taking this image with a long exposure and natural backlight (as opposed to the flashed image below). Conwentzia psociformis is a species of "Dustywing" (Coniopterygidae) living on broad leaved trees and shrubs in large parts of western Europe.
