Full body view of a male Cometh Moth Here it is, one of Madagascar's most iconic species: the comet moth. This one is fully grown and adult. The sad thing is that adult comet moths can't feed for lack of a mouth, they die within 4 to 5 days. This was photographed on a reptile farm where these moths are succesfully bred. The chances of seeing this moth in this stage of life in the wild are very small. Argema mittrei,Comet Moth,Geotagged,Madagascar,Pyreras Reserve Click/tap to enlarge

  1. Didn't know they haven't got a mouth!
Sad to read they only live 4 or 5 days in this beautiful stage of their life.
