Hummingbird Clearwing Moth - Hemaris thysbe

Appearance is variable. The thorax is olive in color dorsally and pale yellow ventrally. The abdomen is dark burgundy dorsally and ventrally with light olive/dark golden patches dorsally. Wings are mostly clear with reddish brown terminal borders.

  Thanks Ferdy! It's easier than it seems to get close to them...I just find the flowers that they love (beebalm, for example) and I just stand there, as still as possible and ready to shoot. They are oblivious and care only about the nectar :).
