Spinellus fusiger, Bonnet Mould Spinellus fusiger is a pin mould that parasitises mycena mushrooms. The thin hairlike strands break through the body and produce a tiny ball at the end.       Thanks, I find that using the flash (something about low light and no tripod) does help and sometimes adds another dimension. Posted 5 years ago

The Bonnet mould

"Spinellus fusiger" is a species of fungus in the Zygomycota phylum. It is a pin mold that is characterized by erect sporangiophores that are simple in structure, brown or yellowish-brown in color, and with branched aerial filaments that bear the zygospores.
