Calocera viscosa, a Jelly Fungus. Not! Ramaria formosa it is. The bright colour drew my attention to this fungus. It and it’s friends were distributed in an area about a metre square. It was surprising to me to find it is a jelly rather than a coral fungus. For a size comparison that is a leaf from Acer macrophyllum, Big-leaf Maple. 1. I'm not feeling Calocera on this. Feels more like Ramaria sp. or something closely related (a coral fungus). Posted 4 years ago, modified 4 years ago
    1. Ramaria formosa? Maybe? Merry Christmas! Posted 4 years ago
      1. Beautiful Clavaria?
Yellow-tipped Coral Fungus Quite eye catching on the dark forest floor. This specimen was one of many in the area. Beautiful clavaria,Canada,Fall,Geotagged,Ramaria formosa

              1. That ID looks good to me :) I'm always hesitant to jump to an ID on Ramaria, but this is one that is pretty distinctive! Posted 4 years ago

"Ramaria formosa", commonly known as the beautiful clavaria, handsome clavaria, yellow-tipped- or pink coral fungus, is a coral fungus found in Europe and North America. It is a pinkish, much-branched coral-shape reaching some 20 cm high. Some forms collected in North America often lack the bitter taste common to European specimens and may represent a different species.
