The Wood Shaving Flower (Strophanthus boivinii) is native to the deciduous forests of Madagascar. This aptly named plant can grow up to 30 m (100 ft) tall! It features lovely, brownish orange, unscented flowers with corkscrew-shaped petals. Each flower only lasts a few days, although new ones keep blooming on the inflorescence. Madagascan flora and fauna always inspire fascination, and this magnificent flower is the perfect example of such curiosities. {Spotted in Madagascar by JungleDragon moderator, Ori Fragman-Sapir} #JungleDragon
