Indri Indri canopy view, V.O.I.M.M.A. Community Reserve, Madagascar
After a full day of driving, and a visit to the Pyreras reptile reserve, we did a quick stroll through the V.O.I.M.M.A. Community Reserve in Andasibe. As it was already late in the day and it being winter, the Indris were only to be found very high up. I'll cover proper observations 2 days later in the set, this hike was just an appetizer. For now a few quick facts:
- Main attraction of Andasibe
- Largest lemur species
- Super loud call that can be heard for miles

The indri, also called the babakoto, is one of the largest living lemurs. It is a diurnal tree-dweller related to the sifakas and, like all lemuroids, it is native to Madagascar.
