  1. I’m not positive, but I think this may actually be Stereum sp., or something similar. The main reason is the stem: even the immature specimens of M. xanthopus that I’ve seen online have a thin, pale stem. The fruiting bodies in your photo have thick, stubby, brownish stems. Do you by any chance have a photo of the underside? Posted 6 years ago
