Native to Argentina, southern Brazil, and Uruguay.
Portulaca grandiflora is a fast growing annual succulent, with a spreading habit.
It has small, fleshy, lance shaped leaves on reddish stems.
The delicate flowers close at night and on cloudy days, hence another common name of sun rose.
Each flower 25 mm diameter.
