Wrinkled Crust - Phlebia radiata
When I came upon this log, I could see some orange peeking out from the underside. I flipped it over and was shocked by the vibrant color! I'm thinking that maybe the recent rain perked it up because it's usually a more subtle shade of pinkish orange.
Description: Orange crust fungus with an irregular outline and a wrinkled surface, in which the wrinkles radiate from a more or less central point.
Habitat: Rotting log in a mostly deciduous forest

Phlebia radiata is a member of the Meruliaceae family. It is commonly known as wrinkled crust. P. radiata is an orange to pink crust fungus that spreads itself across the dead wood of hardwoods and conifers across North America.
